Drill driver, combi drill or impact driver? Start with the jobs you do most.
Know the three main types
A drill driver handles drilling and screwdriving in wood and metal. A combi drill adds a hammer action for masonry. An impact driver delivers high torque in short bursts for driving long screws and bolts, but does not drill masonry.
Pick your battery platform first
Batteries only fit tools from the same manufacturer and platform. If you already own batteries, a bare unit on that platform is usually the most economical choice.
Bare unit or kit
A bare unit is the tool only. A kit includes batteries and a charger. Always check the listing to see exactly what is in the box.
